“ In Oban again and we thought tonight let’s eat somewhere different. We looked for F&C and settled on one close and history. The fryer’s are all digitally controlled, and cooked in rapeseed oil My Cod was amazing and the batter so light with only a tiny bit of rapeseed oil from the fish and chips left on the plate ”
“ Great fish and chips! A must in Oban- haggis was great as well- worth a try! Grab it to go and beers at the shop next door and head to a bench near the water for a sunset picnic. ”
“ Favorite fish and chips and mushy peas I have had in Scotland so far. We got the fish tea special with included haddock, chips, bread and butter, mushy peas, tarter sauce, and tea. Fish was a huge portion and delicious. The fish itself had good texture and flavor and the batter was really crisp and light. The bread and butter was nothing special. There is a small amount of seating inside the restaurant. The service was mediocre. Our waitress forgot to bring our tea and tartar sauce, and only brought out mushy peas for one person. She was very nice about bringing everything we asked for but all of those items were supposed to be included with the fish tea special. Still enjoyed the fish a lot. We are around 5 pm and got the last table. It was very crowded after we were seated. ”
“ Great fish and chip restaurant, I had the vegetarian option, one person had a mac and cheese and the other two had fish but I didn’t take a photo. Great portion sizes and value for money, lovely service as well. Would recommend!! Our tour guide said this was the best fish and chips place in town and it did not disappoint!! ”
“ Had the best battered fish I've tasted here. The batter was light and crispy and the fish perfectly cooked. It was utter perfection honestly. The chips were a bit lackluster as they were a bit soft and, for some, very greasy. A surprising contrast to the fish, which should be easy enough to fix. We had a large portion for the both of us and had more than enough, as the servings are quite generous. Definitely worth a visit! ”
“ Proper fish and chips. Got the fish tea special and it came with some tea and bread. Pretty fast service. It does tend to get quite crowded especially since it's a bit of a cramped space, but they do their best to get you seated quickly. Fish and chips were quite good. Not that big a fan of mushy peas myself, but it looked like the other patrons were enjoying. Tea was nothing special; it was just tea ”
“ Seated straight away, completely spotless inside. Order was taken very quickly and food came out fast. The mushy peas were some of the best I’ve ever had and the haddock and chips were also very good. Great portion sizes and all round very happy. ”
“ This place clearly deserves its award for the best fish and chips—because it absolutely is. The taste stayed with me long after my holiday, and I found myself thinking about it again and again. If you love fish and chips, this spot is a must-try. ”
